How to create AI videos in Nigeria
How do you create AI videos?
You create an AI video by writing a clear scene description, generating short clips with a video model such as Veo, Kling, Runway or Hailuo, adding voice with a text to speech tool, then cutting the clips together in a normal editor. Most useful videos are five to eight short clips joined into one story, not one long generation.
What AI video actually means
AI video is video created or heavily assisted by generative models. You describe a scene in words, or you upload a photo, and the model returns a short clip. Clips are usually five to ten seconds long.
That short length is the most important fact to plan around. You are not asking a model for a finished advert. You are collecting shots, the same way a videographer collects shots, then joining them.
The workflow that works
1. Write the story in one paragraph
Say what the product is, who it is for, and the single feeling you want. A viewer forgets features and remembers feelings.
2. Break the story into shots
Six shots is a good target. Hook, problem, product reveal, close detail, person using it, call to action.
3. Write one prompt per shot
Describe subject, action, camera move, lens feel, lighting and mood. Keep one idea per shot so the model does not blend two ideas badly.
4. Generate, then reject fast
Expect to keep one clip out of three. Judge a clip in two seconds. Hands, text on packaging and fast motion are where models still fail.
5. Add voice and sound
A calm human sounding voice over lifts a rough clip more than a better looking clip with silence.
6. Edit in a normal editor
CapCut on a phone is enough. Trim tight, keep cuts under two seconds early, and put your offer on screen as text.
Prompt pattern you can reuse
Subject and wardrobe, then action, then camera, then light, then mood, then negative notes. Example: a young woman in a yellow ankara top holds a skincare bottle to the light, slow push in, soft window light from the left, warm and calm, no text on screen.
Keep a saved file of the prompts that worked. Inside AI Village that shared file is the AI Prompt Room.
What Nigerian creators should watch for
- Data cost. Generate at lower resolution while testing, then upscale only the clips you keep.
- Payment. Several tools need a card that works internationally. Group subscriptions solve this for small teams.
- Faces. Models still struggle with consistent faces across clips. Use one reference image where the tool allows it.
- Product accuracy. If your label matters, film the product yourself and use AI for the surrounding scene.
Questions people ask
Can I make AI videos with only a phone?
Yes. Most video models run in the browser, and CapCut edits well on Android and iPhone. A laptop only becomes important for long edits and heavier projects.
How long does one AI video take?
A simple product advert of about twenty seconds takes one to three hours the first few times, and under an hour once you have your prompts saved.
Do AI videos still work for adverts?
They work when the story is clear. Viewers scroll past strange visuals with no message, and they stop for a clear promise about something they want.
Learn this with people, not alone
AI Village runs a weekly practical class, keeps a shared prompt library, and reviews the work you submit. The Founding Villager membership is ₦5,000 monthly and the first 20 seats are open now.
